Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal Tests Positive for Steroids
Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal is one of the top competitors in Strikeforce’s light heavyweight division, but just like Cris “Cyborg” Santos, a positive steroid test is the only thing fans are talking about right now.
According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Lawal tested positive for Drostanalone, which is a banned steroid for its benefits to maintaining muscle mass while cutting weight. Lawal’s manager Mike Kogan believes the whole thing was a mistake, as managers often claim.
A few weeks ago Strikeforce’s Cris Cyborg failed her own steroid test following a 16-second-victory over top contender Hiroko Yamanaka. Cyborg received a one year suspension for her test results, while it’s still unclear what Lawal’s punishment will be.
Both fighters were widely regarded as some of the best talent remaining on the Strikeforce roster, and it makes you wonder how much longer the Zuffa-purchased league can continue forward with these sort of revelations.
