Watch UFC’s Wanderlei Silva Coach His Son Through a Jiu-Jitsu Tournament Win
Wanderlei Silva isn’t just one of the baddest men still fighting in the UFC today, he’s apparently also a pretty awesome dad, coaching his son Thor through his first Jiu-Jitsu tournament win at NAGA (North American Grappling Association).
It’s pretty rare to get a glimpse into a fighter’s family life, but when Silva’s son Thor was competing in a NAGA tournament, it was hard not to notice MMA’s #1 dad cheering on his son every step of the way, presumably giving him tips during the bout. He made sure everyone knew about it on Twitter, too.
@wandfc: “I am so glad to coache my son Thor silva ,and what his win in his 1st jiu-jitsu tourny at NAGA ,i am so happy myboy”
That pretty much says it all, doesn’t it? For a guy who guys by “The Axe Murderer,” he sure does come off as a cool dude. Silva is fresh off a victory at UFC on Fuel TV 8 versus Brian Stann, his son is fresh off his first tournament win at NAGA and Ben Henderson just won the Arizona 2013 Jiu-Jitsu Open. Everyone seems to be winning something these days.
Except me of course. I just post videos of Octagon Girls and call myself a journalist.
